Encouraging sustainable transport choices with data-driven incentives.
Earth Miles is a digital reward platform designed to promote sustainable urban mobility. By tracking user movement through GNSS-enabled devices and rewarding eco-friendly choices—such as walking, cycling, or public transport—it incentivizes modal shift in cities. Developed with support from the European Space Agency (NAVISP EL2-145), Earth Miles helps local governments and mobility providers meet climate targets through behavioural nudging and data-informed engagement.
Social Tech Projects supported the Earth Miles team from concept to commercialization, providing the technical leadership and software development expertise needed to take the product from early-stage idea to a working prototype and scalable platform. This included back-end architecture, GNSS algorithm integration, and user-facing application components.

Earth Miles connects a GNSS-based tracking engine with a digital reward marketplace. Users simply activate the app and move; the system automatically detects the transport mode and computes eco-points based on the environmental impact of each trip. Points can be exchanged for real-world discounts, public benefits, or recognition badges.
The platform uses multipath mitigation algorithms to ensure location accuracy even in dense urban environments, making reward allocation both fair and reliable. It offers dashboards for administrators to visualize engagement, emission savings, and policy impact, and integrates with local transport authorities and employers through open APIs.
Earth Miles provides a practical, scalable approach to urban decarbonization by empowering individuals to take ownership of their travel choices. It transforms mobility data into climate action—one trip at a time.
